The Edumatics Corporation contracted with Harris County Department of Education to summarize preliminary data they had collected on student achievement, teacher satisfaction, and teacher and principal testimonials for campuses that had purchased EduSmart Science from January 2008 to May 2009. This EduSmart Science Preliminary report consists of three sections including Schools with EduSmart, Campus Level TAKS, Teacher and Principal Responses, and Highlights/Recommendations. EduSmart and the Texas Education Agency Website provided data for the evaluation.

Since upgrading to the Living with Science II program, teachers in the Brownsville District have reported increases in test scores and have been impressed with how well the program correlates with TEKS and STAAR.

Client Request: Expand Power Generation Education & Research into Renewable Energy Systems

Heliocentris developed a customized technical solution based on the main components of our New Energy Power Supply (NEPS). The standard NEPS platform was appropriate for this custom system as it allowed us to meet BTU Cottbus expectations of having both an industrial and didactic platform.

Graduates of the OCC program receive industry-recognized certification which, according to Sefcovic, let’s potential employers know that these students are fully prepared with the necessary skills to work with robots and automation.

“I believe OCC sets the model for robotic and automation training programs,” said Sefcovic. “It’s not just the technology itself, but how the technology fits into the larger picture.”

“Our education programs are aligned with STEM initiatives to support technical education and career paths,” said Paul Aiello, regional manager, FANUC Certified Education Robot Training (CERT). “We collaborate with industry and education to encourage the development of innovative curriculums based on today’s industry needs. Companies committed to working with CERT training programs are then able to hire locally trained students that have advanced automation skills.”

If you want to get students excited about new technologies like 3D printing, you have to let them follow their passion — even if that passion is ketchup!

High school seniors Tyler Richards and Jonathan Thompson have spent a lot of time thinking about ketchup.

As students in the Project Lead the Way program at North Liberty High School, Richards and Thompson have researched and developed a bottle cap that prevents that first squirt of ketchup from being a watery mess.

Utilizing 3D printing in your school or lab will enable your students to rapidly prototype their models. With a 3D printer students can quickly fabricate physical models using three-dimensional computer aided design data. Rapid prototyping allows students to turn innovative ideas into physical parts for testing design, fit and function! Click here to learn more about rapid prototyping!

View our line of Stratasys 3D Printers. Tech-Labs is proud to offer a wide selection of 3D printers to meet your needs. We offer printers from both the Objet Connex and Eden Design Series line as well as Fortus Production Series 3D printers.

You may also schedule a visit to or request a part from 3D Design Lab to see for yourself what 3D printing can do for your school.

The MINDS-i competition program is designed to develop skills in problem solving, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering and programming. Kids and instructors participated to find new levels of passion and enthusiasm for robotics and technology based careers.

Student teams solved various applied learning challenges and competed in a number of hands-on robotics categories.

Challenge #1: Approaching the Mineshaft Opening
Teams navigate the corridor leading up to the mineshaft opening autonomously (hands-free).

Challenge #2: Entering the Mineshaft
Teams use an array of IR lights along the ceiling of the mineshaft to autonomously navigate (hands-free) the first portion of the mineshaft.

Challenge #3: Gaining Access to Trapped Mineshaft Worker
Teams carefully dismantle the brick-wall trapping the worker; using a robotic arm of their own design.

Challenge #4: Acquiring the Mineshaft Worker
Teams acquire the worker.

Challenge #5: Rescuing Mineshaft Worker
Teams navigate through a series of treacherous pathways containing various obstacles, while keeping their mineshaft worker safe.

The kits are all made out of the same basic pieces, with helpful step by step instructions. The MINDS-i platform consists of simple beams and connectors that lock together to make a durable chassis.

What can you build?

Even before transportation designers join the world's leading automotive companies, as students they're already leveraging 3D printing to test their innovative concepts.

Based in Pasadena, California, the prestigious Art Center College of Design features a Transportation Design program whose alumni you'll find in virtually every major transportation design house - from Porsche and BMW to Ford and Toyota.

Join the school's Director of Rapid Prototyping and Model Shops, David Cawley, as he explains how their Objet 3D Printer from Stratasys is helping students turn their cutting edge ideas into fine-featured, realistic 5th scale models. The students routinely meet with top transportation designers from all over the world, including Jaguar. As you'll see -- turns out that the Jaguar XR was almost entirely developed using 3D printing!

This is the only 3D printer of its kind in the world able to create complex assemblies made of moving parts - each of which is printed in a different material.

These personalized iPhone cases, designed by Danny Tasmakis (http://grabcad.com/danny.tasmakis) were 3D printed on an Objet Connex 500 multi-material 3D printer and feature moving inter-locking gear wheels! This is the only 3D printer of its kind in the world able to create complex assemblies made of moving parts - each of which is printed in a different material. In this video, you see a small selection from among the total Stratasys range of 107 materials, including transparent, black, transparent with patterned dots and grid lines, white and various composite grey/blue shades.
