These spaces, due to their design and potential for hazardous atmospheres, present unique risks. Mishandling a confined space entry can lead to serious injuries or fatalities. A confined space might include tanks, silos, storage bins, vaults, pits, manholes, tunnels, equipment housings, and other similar areas. Hazards in these spaces can range from lack of oxygen, presence of toxic gasses, engulfment risks, to physical dangers like moving parts.
