Wheeled Material Handler Personal Simulator
Simlog’s Wheeled Material Handler Personal Simulator delivers hands-on training with lifelike realism, replicating a typical articulated material handler equipped with an elevating cab, four-tine grapple, and outriggers. This comprehensive solution helps operators build safe, efficient skills for handling scrap and bulk materials in dynamic yard environments.
Designed to replicate a variety of operational practices, this simulator features multiple training modules that mirror everyday tasks at metal recycling facilities. Whether using your own PC or opting for a preconfigured PC bundle, the software is ready to deploy in English or French, making it easy to integrate into your workforce or educational program.

Simulator Controls
Training setups are flexible with Simlog’s rugged Replica Controls or an immersive Operator Chair. Both options provide an authentic operator experience that simulates real-world joystick movement, grapple control, steering, and foot pedal interaction. All control components are built to industrial-grade standards to withstand extended training use.
Simlog’s Replica Controls for the Wheeled Material Handler Simulator use multi-purpose joysticks with 8 push-buttons and optional tabletop brackets to enhance ergonomics. Joysticks can also be mounted to the sides of a standard chair to closely mimic real equipment cabins.
Complete the setup with a commercial off-the-shelf USB steering wheel, 3-pedal toe-down unit, and a USB-ready shifter for stabilizer control. These components are compatible with several Simlog simulators, offering added value in multi-simulator labs.
Custom Travel Cases for Replica Controls

Software Description
The simulation software provides a progressive learning path with multiple modules that reflect everyday material handling tasks. Operators practice critical techniques like driving, grapple control, and container loading with feedback on performance and safety.
- Controls Familiarization
- Line Following
- Grapple Positioning
- Container Loading 1
- Container Loading 2
Thirty-one Key Performance Indicators track every aspect of operator performance. Feedback is diagnostic and immediate, helping instructors pinpoint areas of improvement and ensure readiness for real-world operation.
- Execution time, productivity, and accuracy
- Cab elevation and grapple angle while driving
- Collision types (grapple, undercarriage, container, etc.)
- Procedure Errors: such as operating outside boundaries
- Fatal Errors: e.g., vehicle overturning or unsafe container handling
